I love the sway to the brim.                                                                                                                                            What I suggest is if blocking sinamay place in position accurately according to weave and mark on each layer the spot that hits each pin then make small hole in straw to fit over the pins for each layer. Proceed to block the Brim. You will cut the section out after you have placed a collar on it with correct head size you need. and a collar amount to attach the crown.  Hope this helps.
